Controlling light fastness and illuminance. Light Fastness Type 2 is the second most sensitive level. Manufactured to ISO 105 B01-B05.
Blue scale light fastness type 2, 25 x 15 cm is available to buy in increments of 1

This test sheet type 2 can be used to determine the effect of light on paintings, documents and textiles. The sheet can be cut to the desired size. One half necessarily for comparison with aluminum foil or similar. Mask off!

The blue scale is a measure of the light fastness of organic materials and a vivid dosimeter for convincing museum directors or exhibition makers.

The following table gives an overview of the evaluation of the blue scale, where column A indicates the number of the test strip and column B the approximate number of megalux hours, which leads to a first perceptible discoloration. Since the type of lighting is not specified, the description of megalux hours is to be understood only as a rough guide.

A : Blue wool reference strip
B : Megalux hours of exposure before fading becomes noticeable. Exposure to average indirect indoor lighting (120 to 180 lux) for an average of 12 hours a day equals from 0.53 to 0.79 megalux hours each year.
