ART SORB standard sachet 400g
ART SORB is a silica gel for stabilizing the relative humidity in museum showcases.
For most applications, we have replaced ART SORB with our product PROSORB, which has a better adsorption capacity and is free of lithium chloride. We recommend ART SORB only for very high conditioning (65% - 75% RH) - rarely needed in museum practice.
ART SORB cassettes are more comfortable to handle than loose beads. They are easier to replace and to recondition by weight, at least during the first year. Due to slow degradation of the ART SORB material, the conditioning value of the cassettes gradually shifts upwards, without any change in weight, typically by 1% - 1,5% RH / year. After a certain time of use, the conditioning value has to be checked with an accurate hygrometer.
For more information please download our Prosorb Info and Manual here (Art Sorb and PROSORB are being used in the same way).
